GARISSA PASTORS NOW UHURU TO OPEN CHURCHES.
Garissa Pastor’s Fellowship now want President Uhuru Kenyatta to lift the directive barring churches from congregating due to the Covid-19 pandemic saying the directive has worked against the morals upright of the young generations.

They said the current teenage pregnancies being reported in many parts of the country as well as the rising cases of criminal activities and stress among the youths are to blame for lack of guiding and counselling they have been receiving from the church.

Addressing the press in Garissa the chairman of the fellowship Rev.Dr. David Matolo said the church was ready to comply with the ministry of Health protocols and they have already put in place some of the measures in many churches in anticipation that the president will allow them conduct services.

Rev. Matolo added that the country can only move forward economically if the church which is the source of spiritual nourishment was incorporated in the decision making process of the country.

On his part, Bishop Fred Mumo said today being the 13th Sunday since the churches stopped congregating, men of cloth have experienced financial challenges in meeting their daily family obligations as well as the unprivileged groups they support as a church.

He said the church was ready to be be shut should they fail to follow health protocols laid down by the health Ministry.

Pastor Shalom Kennedy questioned the rationale that was applied when bars operating restaurants were allowed to go on with their businesses while the church with the soberest leadership was barred from congregating.
